A new video was released for the Destiny beta, which goes live on Thursday, July 17, 2014 (11:59pm PDT) for Sony platforms (PS4, PS3) and then on Wednesday, July 23, 2014 (11:59pm PDT) for Microsoft platforms (Xbox One, Xbox 360) The beta will remain live on all consoles until July 27 at 11:59 pm PDT.

This past weekend (June 28, 2014), Galloping Ghost Arcade—now known as the largest arcade in the U.S.—hosted an event called Shang Tsung’s Fight Night IV. Ten of the original cast of Mortal Kombat (1, 2, 3) actors as well as a couple of members of the development team showed up for the event, much to the delight of fans that were in attendance.

Atari Games decided to get into the fighting game scene with Primal Rage—a 2D fighting game with a unique back story featuring a meteor crash causing a post-apocalyptic version of Earth called "Urth." The seven-character fighting game featured original monsters (worshipped by the now stone-age dwellers as gods)—Armadon, Blizzard, Sauron, Talon, Vertigo, Diablo and Chaos—fighting each other for dominance of Urth.
R-Type Dimensions is a re-imagining of the classic 2D arcade shoot-em-up (shmup) from 1987. It’s basically a love letter to all fans of the R-Type series of games. Over the years there have been a myriad of sequels and ports to this series, but nothing holds up like the original arcade versions of R-Type and R-Type II. Now that they’ve been given a facelift and more features, it’s time to revisit them once more.

According to multiple sources, including Variety.com, Google/YouTube will be buying the Twitch streaming service (Twitch.tv) for $1 billion. The exceedingly popular Twitch has garnered much attention since launching in 2011 as a spinoff of Justin.tv. Twitch has reportedly raised roughly $35M since becoming an independent company. The service is now an integral part of the PS4's "share button" feature and was recently implemented on the Xbox One as well.
